Frequently Asked Questions

How do I join Do Not Apply (DNA*)?

DNA* has launched open beta! To join as a candidate you can create your profile here. To join as a company, you can request a demo.

What is “open beta”?

Open beta provides users with the opportunity to engage with DNA* before its official public release. This phase allows our developers to gather valuable feedback, identify and address bugs, and refine features based on real-world usage. Open beta users will be among the first to explore the platform, while also helping to shape the version of DNA* we launch in 2025.

How does DNA* differ from other talent platforms?

We’re doing things differently at DNA* by putting an emphasis on experience over titles. We have designed candidate profiles to show what really matters - the skills you have developed, the technologies and tools you have used, and the company culture you’re looking for. Ditch your resume and build your career with Do Not Apply.

What types of opportunities can I find on DNA*?

We are launching early access with software development, sales, and business development roles. Our team will be expanding the type of roles throughout open beta and into our official launch to include other titles.

When will DNA* open up to other job titles outside of sales and software development?

We are working hard to open up DNA* to other job titles and skill sets. If you are neither a sales or software professional but would like to be apart of DNA* you can let us know what types of roles you’re looking for.

How do I get support if I encounter issues with the platform?

If you are experiencing any issues with your account or profile you can contact support@donotapply.io. A member of our team will respond to you within 2 business days.

How do I get more information about DNA*? (demos?)

If you are a company or recruiter and would like to learn more about DNA* and how it works you can schedule a demo. A member of our team will walk you through the platform and answer any questions you have.

How does candidate and company matching work on DNA*?

Our unique matching algorithm takes into account multiple factors from your DNA*. Key information about a candidate such as their primary discipline, skills related to that discipline, and their core values play strongly into how we match that candidate to a company. In addition, company culture factors such as what a candidate wants out of work-life balance, leadership, and growth opportunities will have a significant impact on the matching score.

How does the platform work for companies?

Here's a video to show how the platform works. It just takes 5-10 minutes to create a company profile. Once your profile is built candidates can find your company without you needing to do anything. If they're interested in working at your company, they'll let you know and you'll get a notification. You can then review their skills and experience along with how well they match to your company and decide whether you’d like to book a meeting with them directly through DNA* via our Calendly integration.

How do I get my best company match on DNA*? (showcasing values and skill sets)

It is important to create a robust profile by providing as many details about your life experience and skill sets as possible, as well as information about what you value. The more details our algorithm has about what you are looking for, the better matches you will receive.

Is DNA* suitable for freelancers and full-time professionals alike?

DNA* encourages diversity in the type of roles available to its users including fractional and remote work. However, we cannot guarantee that the companies on our platform will always be hiring a certain type of work.

Where are DNA* candidates located?

At this point in our open beta candidates are located in Canada, mostly within the western provinces. This will change as we are onboarding candidates and companies weekly from all over North America.

How can I schedule intro calls through the platform?

Through our Calendly integration, DNA* provides a seamless way for companies to schedule calls with candidates they are interested in. No need to go back and forth trying to coordinate schedules. Candidates can instantly find available times in a recruiters schedule to book the initial call.

What happens if I don’t match any companies?

There may be a couple reasons why your profile isn’t a matching to companies: companies may not be currently hiring for your skill set and experience or you have not filled out your profile to include all the information required to make a match. If your profile is fully developed no need to worry, we have new companies joining DNA* every week and we will let you know as soon as we find a match for you.How much effort do I need to invest?

How much does it cost?

There is no cost during open beta period for both candidates and companies. Companies that sign up during open beta will be guaranteed a lifetime discount when we officially launch in early 2025.

How many candidates are matched to a company?

Matches are dependent on how well candidates match to a company and what skills and experience the company is looking for. Currently we're in open beta, once we enter our official launch we will have more sufficient data to share with you. Stay tuned!
